A: We provide comprehensive primary care for adults aged 18 and older. Whether you’re managing a chronic condition or just need routine check-ups, we’re here to help.
Q: How is DPC different from traditional clinics?
By removing the complexities and delays often associated with traditional insurance-based healthcare, we’re able to shift the focus back where it belongs—on you. No more navigating call centers or sitting on hold. We offer direct access through text, phone, or email, and when you need an appointment, we do our best to see you the same or next day. This model allows us to provide truly patient-centered care—timely, personalized, and built around your needs.
Q: Are specialist visits included?
A: No, specialist care is not included. However, we can refer you to trusted specialists and help coordinate care.
Q: Do you accept health insurance?
A: No. While insurance provides essential support during catastrophic events, it often poses challenges for the day-to-day operations of small primary care clinics. For instance, one would not expect car insurance to cover routine services such as oil changes, tune-ups, or minor repairs, as these would involve a substantial amount paperwork for reimbursement. By eliminating the “middle man”, our healthcare model significantly reduces medical costs, making them more affordable and accessible. Our fees align with most HSA and FSA accounts, allowing memberships to qualify as a medical expense. We recommend annual payments as a best practice to maximize the benefits of these accounts and to qualify for the 10% savings!
Q: Should I still carry insurance?
A: That is a personal decision only you can make, but it is typically recommended to have some degree of coverage for unexpected hospitalizations or other potentially catastrophic events.
Q: Can I still join Smart Healthcare if I have Medicare?
A: Yes, we require you to sign a one-time waiver stating that neither you nor your medical provider will directly bill Medicare for our services. Medicare will still cover any laboratory testing, imaging, medications, or hospitalizations recommended by our offices according to your policy.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: For members, we kindly ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. While there is no fee for cancellations or rescheduling, we encourage you to be considerate and provide the 24-hour notice whenever possible.
For non-members, a $50 fee will be charged for missed (no-call, no-show) appointments or appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notification.
What are the policies on the membership fees, obligations & cancellations?
Auto-Pay: All members are required to have a bank account on file and enroll in auto-pay. You can cancel at any time and you will continue to have services, if you choose, through the end of your current billing cycle. If you pay on June 1st and notify us of cancellation on June 20th, you will have services through the end of June and will not be charged after that. Please note, should you choose to cancel or allow your membership to lapse, you will be subject to the current sign-up/enrollment fee at the time of re-enrollment.
Any late payment or insufficient fund penalties will be the responsibility of the individual to cover.
